Presentation theme: Therapeutic apps for mobile phones and tablets: types of apps available and their potential benefits within the therapeutic process
Brief introduction to your presentation: This presentation will discuss the prevalence of mobile phone and tablet use in modern society, and how this technology has become an integral part of everyday life. With people working longer hours, working from home and often having less support with younger families I wanted to explore how we might use therapeutic apps to help integrate intonal therapy in to modern busy lives.
Personal Bibliography Anna Palin-Swift:
My initial background is in Psychology and during my Masters I explored therapy and the boundaries to seeking support. Part of my dissertation explored whether online counselling was an option that people may consider as a way past some of these boundaries. This led me to start my counselling training with Relate, starting with relationship therapy but also receiving a certificate in online counselling.
I currently have a busy schedule working face to face for Relate, and in private practice, as a relationship therapist and working with sex addiction. I also spend the bigger portion of my time working as an online counsellor through the Relate national live chat service and the email a counsellor service.
