Counselling futures: ethical opportunities or threats from working on-line?

New technology provides new therapeutic opportunities. What have we learnt about the ethical challenges from delivering services on-line over the last ten years? What are the boundaries between using social media for personal and professional uses? I will conclude with some future gazing around the latest developments in neurology and the potential of computerized diagnosis of mental health for clients.

 

Tim Bond is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Bristol, UK, and a visiting Professor to the University of Malta. He researches ethical issues for the talking therapies.
